Good cheap sat-nav
I'm after a decent sat-nav system but don't want to pay the earth.
Anyone know of any good deals?

I know macro have some on special at the min (and if you can find a company to pay the VAT there really reasonable) cant remember the price off the
top of my head

Garmin i3 - £99 Delivered
The DSG stores (dixons/currys/pcworld/thelink) have them for £88.97 - Although postage cost varies between them.

and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

Good and cheap do not go together!!!!!!
My recommendation is the Mio C710.
It has maps for 24 european countries, camera updates and TMC.
TMC is linked to free radio station traffic updates. This allows you to reroute around jams. It also does a lot more!!
If you want cheap and fairly good, go for tom ton one.
It does not do traffic or cameras unless you pay an annual fee and you have it bluetoothed to a wap enabled phone.
This can work out quite expensive.
So you can either spend 100 extra on the mio or spend it using the updates on the Tom Tom!

Bear in mind that you have to start paying real money if you want to postcode search 6 digits.

Another vote here for the Garmin i3, cant beat it for the money, does full postcode searches and the speed camera side can be sorted by downloading
the poi's from www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk

Yeah that's why I mentioned check your local store (you can phone customer services and they can also see where stock is, although not as
reliable as going into your branch)

another vote for the garmin i3, it works really well, full post code searches etc, and also works well as a telephone directory! gives u numbers of
all local services and entertain for example.

Also, if you have a PDA, TomTom 6 is available on the internet if you know where to look. With a £40 GPS receiver it's excellent, full postcode
search and all...

I got a nearly new HP rz1710 (comes with a GPS unit) from Ebay then as UncleFista said got tomtom6 works great.
Camera updates are available from the same place.

So what does garmin i3 do, or I suppose the question should be doesn't do compared to more expensive models?
