Right price for a Fury V8?
Hi All,
I'm considering buying what looks like a well sorted Fury Rover V8:

I'd appreciate any comments on this buy, specially it would be great to have your input with regards to its asking price. Not long ago, there
was a similar one for sale, now sold:

What do you think? Right price? Looks like a nice car generally, worth to go see it? (Remember I'm in Spain!)
Any alternatives around that you may have seen lately? Where can I look for similar cars, other than PH?

Looks really nicely built from a mechanical perspective.
Only thing that puts me off is the dash looks like an afterthought, but that's sortable pretty easily
Price? Looks about right to me...

Btw, correct me if I'm wrong:
Stylus: boot, doors
Fury: no boot, doors optional
Phoenix: no boot or doors
Right?

I don't think it is quite as clear cut as that. My Fury has a boot for example:

The Phoenix chassis is narrower than the Fury (not sure on Stylus), and although the bodywork of the Fury and Phoenix looks similar at first glance,
it has quite a few differences, a completely different rear end for example.

Alez - my mate is looking to sell his just sprayed and on the road (fully registered) Stylus with a 'Real Steel' Rover V8 engine and no
expenses spared. Built by an engineer in the trade with over £12k of trade price parts.

Yup. Fury "boot" is a shelf behind the seats underneath the rear deck. About 6" tall and the size of the deck.

Jonathan,
I think only a couple of owners have made this modification...it's certainly not standard from the factory.

Yeah it is one of Steve's old cars. The photo I posted was taken when it was still in his possession and was being thrashed around Italy.
I believe that the boot was done by the Factory as it started life as a demonstrator. When Steve collected his first Striker kit , JP told him that he
was building his Fury with a boot and a glove box. We think that that was what is now my Fury  .

Hey, then it has "something" as standard after all, nice then.. I've been carrying my stuff from here to there for 3 years now
whenever I park just like a bike driver and fancy something a bit more refined now.. I can't leave stuff inside the car where people would see
it, in Madrid the car would get broken into.
Any other opinions on the ad I posted earlier on or others you may know of? Actually I would also consider a Duratec or a 4age job but can't
find any.

Could be right - thought he said Stylus but his last car was - maybe I just presumed this was - does look like a Fury though.....

a) Stylus Deeper doors = shallower sills. These are still quite deep
b) Headlights. These are Std Lucus 7in not porsche....
c) Bonnet looks like classic fury. No sign of Stylus "escape hatch"

Q: Where do the regs sit on Q plates? Know of a 1996 BEC Fury that may be for sale shortly....

Hey Steve,
Not sure what you mean by where do the regs sit on Q plates (I know nothing about UK regs really to be honest) but if you mentioned the Fury BEC as a
possible choice for me, I've decided to go car engined this time for a comfy frequent driver with good torque..
