You only need one fog light for an M.O.T. but it must be the o/s one.

mot min requirement is a fog lamp fitted to the centre or o/s of vehicle.
lots of vehicles only have one lamp wired up as standard.

most cars only have one fog lamp, when i wrote to vauxhall about this (i was bored) they sent me a letter back saying that its done as they feel its safer as they dont think people will confuse it with brake lights with only one being lite as it stands out more

Lots of modern cars have the lamp capable of taking a bulb holder for the N/S rear fog light but the lamp does not have a reflector

Its all for a reason, if the bulb goes while in use, then you take potluck about being hit, if you have twin fogs and the RH one fails, then a driver behind may be fooled into thinking that your car is one car width to the left... weak, but that is the thinking

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation
