Blue Injectors?
I have an early Dunnell system which originally uses Blue injectors with low resistance about 4 ohm, but the injectors were not included in the sale,
so does anybody know where the blue injectors come from.
I have a picture of the type injector in my archive "zetec" and pictures of a system with the blue ones.
So who knows what type it is?

Probably Sierra Cosworth - the ones below are...

They look the same, but are these also low resistance since my ECU is calibrated for this.
Looking at your archive i believe the engine in the picture is yours?
Can you see any numbers on them? and is it possible to measure the resistance for me?
Would be a great help.

Yes - they are low impedence.
Not sure I can get to them right now but will have a hunt around

Same ones I use they are low resistance standard cosworth items good for at least 50hp each. Cheap as chips on ebay 'cos the cosworth boys
replace them with uprated injectors

The blue injectors are the same as the earlier cosworth yellow injectors.
Ford decided to make all maintinace parts yellow, hence making them blue.
Beware that light blue exist which flow MUCH more.

Surely you need the part number for the injector and can't just rely on the colour of them? However lots of people just use the colour
especially when talking about ones for a Cosworth unit based on the Pinto (can't think what it's called..)
If you could find out the flow rate then this site might help

Wow i knew there was a lot of expertise here but this is superb.
I think the Blue ones are the ones to go for, since the former owner of the system also used them, unfortuantly he used them again on his supercharged
engine.
By the way is there a huge difference between the coils of a 2.0 DOHC 16v and a Silvertop 2.0 16v? The only difference i could find regards to looks
is the camcover one says DOHC and the other 16v.

If you're referring to 2 engines that look almost identical but one has a cam cover reading "DOHC" and the other "ZETEC"
then they're both silvertop zetecs...
The Ford DOHC is a different engine altogether

Not too sure on the coils, though - there are 2/3 variants of the coilpacks around but so long as you get the HT leads to match the coilpack then it
doesn't matter which engine you fit it to.

OK, the DOHC on the picture is the one it came of and i have a 16v Zetec i took out of a 96" Mondeo i bought so everything on the engine is
standard.
So this should be OK then.

Since the coilpack is OK i was wondering if you can gain some more BHP or Torque when fitting new sparks?
So can you? Or isn't it worth the trouble.
I am working on it now for next summer so i want to get it as good as possible.

zetecs can be pretty sensitive to poor sparks. However lack of strong spark is normally down to poor ignition leads rather than the coil.
*However* I would fit the later coil if possible as there must have been something to prompt Ford to change the design...
