Help on engine
I've just been offered a 5.3 v8 (gmc i think) long engine with 5 speed manual box, rebuilt and warrantied for 12 months but no other details
(yet). Does anyone out there know anything about them ?
Tried a search with google but can't find much
As i'm building a viento, there should be room to fit this beast.
If anyone else is interested, assuming its any good, may be able to get some more.
Its from a fully legit source
Price was £1,500 ish
Any help or info would be appreciated

my only advice would be...
"why not"
you would prob only need 1st n 2nd
these big V8s found their way into the back of grasstrack cars, they have so much grunt some used to run "Direct Drive", just a clutch, no
gears full stop.

Shouldn't that be "4th and 5th" Jon?
There was a Bentley 6.75L twin turbo motor on ebay a while back:

Although I've no idea what it went for it was on about a grand when I last looked.
I'd say why not, the Viento can take it but if it's made of iron it may weigh Rather A Lot.
Not that it matters when you have 300+ lbft and the car will still be well under 800kg I'd think.
Big V8s wooooo
If only I had a few grand to spend on a JE big cube Rover V8. I don't think any other small block can compare on weight although the all ali LS1
chevy lump seems to be a fave for the pricier kit builders these days.
