No Christmas Present, but happy new year (not)

Well no Christmas Present and the yesterday back at work and we all got an e-mail wishing us a happy new year etc and a meeting tomorrow(today)

12pm today and the meeting is about redundancies and we now have a 90 day consultation period, yes happy new year.
Looks like the car will be going or split.

Think about it, think about it again and then do it.

Hi Steve working in the renewable energy business, its the future!
Right kick in the teeth as my wife got told before christmas she may be out of a job in March.
But things happen for a reason so going to look forward and move on, no point been too down about it people in a worse boat than me.

Hi KJ,
sorry to hear that. You're in my neck of the woods too, up north (I'm on South Beach, Blyth). What's up with the renewable energy thing then, a change in direction (no pun intended), or linked to government cuts? I'd hope that if you're qualified in what you do, which I'm guessing you are, then you'll find something else, as like you say, it's the future according to a lot of people.

Good luck getting sorted, it's a horrible feeling but, like you say, take what you can from it and move on.

At least you can put on your CV that you have been involved with renewable energy..... you want to try getting in without the expierience.

Good luck with the job hunting

Thanks for all the comments, the company is stream line things but looking at what they are putting forward they will struggle. I am a positive person and never give up or let things get to me, i have the option to apply for another job in the company so a job is better than none.
I am sure i will not be the last to be hit this year and 4 others face the same.

It's only the future as long as big companies are willing to invest - I've been working on a very large project to build a manufacturing plant for the RE industry - just been put on hold for re-assessment. They know they want to be in the industry, but they don't want to put their money where their mouth is at the moment and invest in the necessary infrastructure to manufacture the plant.

What job do you do?
