Zetec - MT75, starter motor hitting sump?

Has anyone had any issues with the starter motor hitting the sump?

My sump (1.8 mondeo) has a bossing or bulge on the side which is preventing me from fitting the starter motor

Cheers

I cut that section out and ad a plate welded inside the sump, initiallty tried grinding it dow but still not enough clearance

As said you need to grind the sump to give clearance for starter.
