Type 9 Gearbox - What is this wire ?

I did ask this in another thread which is quite long, so may have been missed.

Does anyone know what this wire and connector is for on the Type 9 gearbox in my MK Indy? It is on the opposite side to the mechanical speedo cable. It was/is not connected to anything.

Electronic speedo input?

Electronic speed sensor (Hall affect sensor). Found on later boxes where the engine was efi.

If your speedo takes a signal from a hall affect sensor its much better than magnets glued to the prop.

I've got the right sort of gearbox - can't find a gizmo to fit to it...

Once I've got one I can think about putting that box on the bench and maybe fitting an upgraded 1st gear... sometime, when money allows...
