Using Kart seats ?

I am strugling to find a seat to fit my Melos, all i hav eis 42cm max width for a seat, best i can find is 43 but no room for the sliders to work, so i have been looking at Kart seats, are the legal on roads ?

JK composites do some smaller than that. I had 42-43mm and they trimmed a pair down by 10mm for me for extra clearance.
