MLR Gear stick Adapter and Rose Jointed Stick

could someone just help me with my MLR gear stick re-locator and my MLR rose Jointed stick...

i wonder if i have got the stick in the saddle the right way round?
when the MLR re-locator is fitted does the stick always sit so close to the prop???
