2 Litre Zetec cams
Does anybody know what the markings are on zetec cams to denote wether they are 2 litre cams or not.
I have looked at some cams with markings L913B.

Bob,
Ford use "parity rings" to identify camshaft part numbers. The attached image shows a 11111 code. 2.0l cams are coded 01010 for inlet and
01100 for exhaust read from the front of the engine.
A 1 indicates presence of a ring, a 0 indicates no ring present. These are part of the cam casting. Also, the inlet will have a cast trigger on the
rear of the cam, which is for the cam position sensor.

Thanks for the reply but that was far too technical for my simple mind
I dont have the cams,they are for sale at the other end of the country unfortunatly.
The plan is to fit the 2 litre cams to my 1800 engine.
The cams are advertised as 2 litre but i just wanted to confirm if these numbers were relevent

Bob, basically the black rings on that pic are in the positions that they would be in if they were all present (ie 11111). You want one with rings in
the second and 3rd positions for exhaust, but no where else....and rings in second and fourth positions for the inlet cam. If that makes sense.

The top one in your pic is the exhaust cam. You see the two cast in rings next to eachother?
The bottom one is the inlet cam.
Just a sec while in photoshop....

God i'm thick
I was looking at them rings and the penny still didnt drop.
anyway unfortunatly its all in vain as they are 2 litre cams bit black top and i want silver top.

confused now as i have just found someone who has fitted 2 litre black top cams in there silvertop,i thought this couldnt be done because of a
difference in the followers(solid or hydraulic)
