Cat................here kitty kitty!
So if I was to buy instead of renting a Catalytic converter what size /type model would I need to look for ,to fit a R1 engine?
I see CAT4LESS will sell me a Fiesta 1.3 unit for £61+Vat+delivery which makes it an interesting option against renting one for £50/week.

wotn you find a fiest a cat look to big etc etc
and you only need it once

The logic was, I would be able to go to my friendly MOT man and set up my air bleed system on his analyser and not necessarily have to do it in the
same week as the SVA test

Remember you will need a cat for every MOT as your SVA settings will be recorded on the new computer system and called up when you go for your MOT.
Andy W - do you have any pics of the cat?
Looking for a good looking one I can use and lend out.

VW SEAT it was a bit too big (not getting hot ) try and get somthing a bit smaller and the stuff inside is BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH so watch the dust

To be honest the pictures I have seen of a standard car type cat don’t look very promising for bolting to the outside of a car which has to go
through SVA .
They are all pressed steel flange type welds and sharp edges
I think if I did buy one, you would probably have to enclose it in a smooth cylindrical
Cover with tapered ends if it was to pass any sort of a test. Like Lenny has

Don't know if you spotted my thread, "In need of a cat" a while back but I got this from Tadltd. (Top pic)
I've still got the can to make to finish the project. The other pics show it encased in stainless.
Had to make and fit the iccle flanges so it was removable without taking the engine out.
They won't be seen once the body works on.

That cat' was made to spec' - it's a performance one, with a less dense cell structure for improved flow (200 cells per inch as
opposed to a 'normal' catalyst with 500 cells and more).
It was £160 inc. VAT and delivery.
I can do a range of standard 'universal fitment' ones for less, details on our web-site when I get the chance to upload them!
