capri 2.0l

I have the option on two capri's one is a 2l and the other is a 1.6l. Are the engines the same as the ones in the escort and sierra?
whice one would you go for if you had the option of the two?
I am going to be using the 7 +4 chassis will the 2l fit in to this with out to many mods?

thanks
james

I would go for the 2.0, you will get a 3.44:1 diff instead of the 3.75:1 which will give more relaxed cruising, and with the 2.0 engine, will not affect accelereation too much.

I have a 3.75:1 axle from a capri and a sierra 2.0i engine and box, all going in a standard book chassis, in hind sight, I wish I had gone for the 2" wider chassis just to make things a bit easier in the engine bay and giving me more choice when buying seats. I have done a pdf file about how to fit a capri axle into a book chassis if you want it.
