Clutch cable spring???

Hi

I have an MK Indy with a 2 litre pinto. I have fitted the clutch cable which seems to fit just fine. I am however worried about the clutch pedal falling back onto the floor rendering the clutch as useless. How can i keep pressure on the clutch or clutch pedal so it does not fall backwards onto the floor? Would some sort of sprig help? What have you guy's done?

Cheers

Andy

p.s. this is also in the Indy section!

it might not happen! the clutch itself will keep the cable in tension.

on my wifes old R reg megane, the cable end at the clutch fork could be pulled from its little recess with the force of two fingers. It looke shyte, but never fell off.

If your pedal makes the cable go slack, theres a problem. On my throttle, this can happen, but the cable goes throu a little rubber grommet at the pedal. when accellerating the grommet pulls on the cable end. If the pedal is moved by hooking yer foor under it and taking tension off the cable, it just moves slackly back into the grommet. This doesnt describe the situation well, but its what ford did on the granada.

what pedal arrangemet are you using?
