re-programming laserline 996 alarm remotes

anybody got a laserline 996 alarm on here and know how to reprogram remotes?

The shogun I have recently bought has one on it but only came with one "electronic key" and no remote fobs.

It works fine using that, but if i lose it i am in the poo (you can't turn it off by key and its an immobiliser too, and been properly wired in unlike most! )

I know the laserline remotes should be recodable but the instructions on laserline website don't work, (they don't list the 996 anymore) and the 996 instrucitons i have don't cover recoding!

(closest I could find in my intruction manual)

Remote Handset Synchronisation:
In particular situations (remote battery change) , on return to the vehicle it may be necessary to push and hold down arm/disarm buton of the remote until the green LED on the remote extinguishes.
This should be performed whilst standing adjacent to the vehicle. Depressing button a second time will synchronise the system and resume normal operation of the handset. Should the LED fail to extinguish, the battery needs replacing.

You can't program a new remote into the alarm like this...if you could then anyone with the same type of alarm could program their remote into your alarm!

Ah right, should read slower

I've been trying to switch off the "auto-arm" on mine. I took it apart to set the appropriate dipswitches, to find it doesn't have any....

Bugger.
