For Christs sake the BBC turned a blind eye to his exploits and employed Saville for decades! He was even shown shoving his hands up young girls
dresses on screen at it was ignored. The worlds gone mad

Replace it with another housing 'buy to let' program, job done, the Sheeple will all be far happier.
Let's not worry people with anything that's 'challenging', we can offend no-one, say nothing. Lovely tweety tweety world.
If only the BBC was pay-for-view I would have the ability to vote with my feet, instead I get charged a poll-tax to cover all the crap. The management
team perhaps need to look beyond their outrageous salaries, bonus payments and payoffs.
The thought police will be knocking soon.. must stop... cover head with foil...

Apparrently several years ago the BBC considered changing the whole Top Gear team to present a more respectable and PC show. The line up was rumoured
to be made up of long standing BBC stalwarts Jimmy Saville, Stuart Hall and Frank Bough. There was a new feature "A Star in a reasonable priced
Whore" They even got as far as filming the first episode featuring Gary Glitter

If it turns out that Jezza has actually punched/hit/b1tch slapped someone while at work (it's what I heard on the news) that is unacceptable.
Regardless of anything else you just can't hit people at work (unless you are in a boxing ring) no matter how much they have provoked you.

Correct, you can't do that EVER. I was once put in a position where by another employee which limited me to either 'yes sir, no sir, three
bags full" and humiliated in front of all other employees (all over who was allowed to be the 'comedian' in the work place) or deck
him because he was less than an inch from my face wagging his finger up my nose. (me 6ft 4", him 5ft 8" I just thought he wants to be
"THE" comedian, so lets see how funny he thinks this is and I, ........................................................................
smacked him,......................................................................................................... with my lips,
................................................on his lips
He never gave me ANY trouble EVER again and he lost his spot as top comedian.

I'm not sure that's what it is. I think it is that people are sick of being told what to think and Jezza represents that viewpoint.

They should move him into a late Saturday night talk show host
I'm not a huge fan of top gear, but as said here the filming and editing is top notch BBC. The other car show I like is fifth gear but its the
presenters that make the cars interesting its a difficult case to wheigh up..
Just hope its not the last we see of him driving nice cars...

I was once at a comedy festival in New Zealand and this comedian was being badly heckled by a member of the audience. The heckler was being totally
awful and saying stuff about the comedians mother etc etc. He deserved to be punched but the comedian ask him if he could do a better job? The
heckler said yes and the comedian got him up on stage and sat him on a chair. The comedian told to bloke to 'be funny'. The comedian
turned away slightly and before we new it he'd whipped is willy out and wiped it over the hecklers face. He told the heckler that from now on
every time he hecklers someone or sees a heckler remember that you some blokes willy on your lips!

Slapping your staff is wrong,...................... even though we all know that some really should be treated as computers and have information
punched into them
I would like to see Clarkson walk away, give the British Broadcasting Cretins the finger and laugh.
He does not need the money and could earn a second fortune with any other broadcaster
The BBC as an institution is broken and has been for many years.
Their arrogance and attitude is maintained by the tax payer.
Protecting known sex cases, massive pay offs and run by the rabid PC brigade
At best a disorganised dictatorship staffed by a higher proportion of disabled, drug and alcohol addicted, homosexual champagne socialists with an
agenda to socially re engineer society.
As a top gear presenter he is irreplaceable, he is why people watch.
Having worked for TG some years ago, Clarkson is the most approachable and personable.
Hammond runs off the moment the cameras stop rolling to polish his teeth May is a nice chap but at his best with the public.
Let top gear go, it will cost the BBC a fortune to loose it.
Clarkson will prosper.
Hammond will continue to make rubbish Z grade tv.
May will make the interesting boys own tv stuff.

A long time ago the BBC produced a play by Nigel Kneale called The Year of the Sex Olympics" and it fairly accurately predicted the rise of
lowest common denominator trash television. H.L. Menken wrote "Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the (American)
public".
There are always those that will defend the indefensible, if the BBC had show that featured Bear Baiting or Cock Fighting it would find an audience
who would defend it, personally I want the BBC to do what it is in its' mission statement educate, inform, entertain.
The BBC has held on to Top Gear because it is cash cow but in doing so it sold its' soul.

Before that it was called "Wheelbase" with presenters like Gordon Wilkins and Cliff Michelmore guest were serious motoring figures like
Bill Boddy and Alex Issigonis. The name also incorporated BBC F1 coverage

The joy of mutiple email addresses, reminds me of when Sir John Major was voted "Man of the Year" by a massive margin in a BBC email
poll, no harm to Sir John but Man of the Year I think not.

Almost 400K multiple addresses.....right. There is a massive amount of support worldwide for TopGear and Clarkson in particular. I would expect this
to grow very quickly.

To balance things out, we need a vote to see how many people support the BBC's actions...
</windup mode>
Before someone decks me... I have found Top Gear to be very boring lately, but tens of thousands love it so I can't criticise. I just choose
not to watch it.
The simple answer is for the producer concerned to make an official complaint to the police about the alleged assault. If they think it warrants an
arrest then I'm sure they will do so, and the Beeb will be vindicated. If they think that there is no case, then the Beeb can shut up and give
Clarkson his job back (if he wants it).
The cynic in me wonders whether JC engineered this whole situation so he can get out of the TG contract, and go work somewhere else. Perhaps I am
being too cynical...

Surely he is just setting himself up to run as a UKIP MP.
He fits the bill:
Cash in bank
Election around the corner
Fan of beer whilst on telly
Smoker
Openly not a fan of johnny foreigner
Populist without feeling a need to be accurate
Come to think of it, have you seen Farage and Clarkson at the same time?
