MOT
Do I need to MOT the car from the chasis number before the IVA test?
Will The car,as its a new build have the 3 years immunity from the MOT Test,like brand new cars?(i know this kind of contradicts the first question)

DO NOT MOT IT ! Once it's in `the system` , even if you get a brand new reg , it will need an MOT after 1 year

OOno it doesn't i Moted mine before the sva and i got 3 years before the next mot
having said that if i was doing it all again i would not mot before SVA/IVA

don't get caught out like me and have a mot pre sva or it'll be in the system even if you ask them not to do that
mines in and now i have to mot this year

Is it necessarily a bad thing though to have an MOT after 1 year.
From my point of view, if there is something I've missed that is bad enought to fail an MOT (e.g. a wheel bearing) I'd want to know
before something drops off.
Given most of the time regular servicing will spot something, so I guess its personal opinion on that really.

Then also think of the money situation, to get mine on the road I had to have 3 days off work (self employed so NO pay) 1 for SVA, 1 for retest &
1 for DVLA inspection. I then paid £185 for SVA, £38 for retest, £55 to register it, £128 (I think) VED then 3x 100 mile round trips. I certainly
don't want to have to pay out for 3x MOT's at £40 a time on top.
Okay I know the fail/retest was my fault, but I still had to pay for it.
