Compressor Switch 2

Some might remember this thread where I talked about wanting to put my compressor on the mezzanine floor and relocate the pressure switch to ground level. linky

Well I have now done this, the compressor is in the rafters with a big vent in the exterior wall feeding the air. There were 2 air feeds to the on/off pressure switch which were lengthened and of course the cable from the switch to the motor was replaced with a proper crimped longer one. The drain was run in hose down to a panel at ground level also.

So now I have the switch, drain and airline all run from a chest height control panel on the wall and the compressor out of the way in the rafters, and it all works beautifully.

Pic to follow if anyone is interested.

Hi Liam - does your tank have a moisture bleed valve fitted or is the water trapped elsewhere?
Both of mine have a big bolt on the bottom which has stopped me from getting them up off the floor as the prospect of an eye full of rusty water while standing on a ladder doesn't do anything for me. Interested in ways round this othe rthan a longer spanner!

I plan to moisture traps inline soon.

On the bottom there is a moisture/rundown thumb wheel drain. I replaced it with a 3/8ths hose barb and ran it to ground level. Is that what you mean?
