5JJ UPrated clutch parts supplier?
Hi All
I've tried searching but with no luck. Can somebody tell me the best place to buy uprated clutch springs and plates for my 5JJ R1? I'm not
sure if I need them but I'm about to start my season (more than half way through :-( ) so I want to be ready just in case I get clutch
problems!
Regards
Wyn

Hi.
Just double up the spring (not conventional springs,... it's more like a plate)
Cheers,
Joao

With the R1 (4XV/5JJ/5PW) you do not have a conventional coil spring arrangement, it has a single diaphragm spring. You have two choices
1) Buy a Barnett coil spring conversion kit (around £100)
2) Double up the diaphragm spring
Both will work fine, although the Barnett has the better progression (good for starts). You do not need to uprate your clutch plates, the standard
Yamaha ones are more than good enough.
Paul
P.S. I can sell you a second diaphragm spring for £5 +postage if you want one.

Of course, I've got the 5VY - ar*e!
And i need to upgrade the clutch before Saturday. The engine will probably need to come out so any guidance is much appreciated!
