Nice chap - very accommodating.

I'm going to ask for his bank account details and then pass them on to the Police.

Anyone know who's best to contact ? Don't think the local Police will be interested.

"Rob, here is no bank, on the oil rig, where I can take your check. If you want, I can give you my bank account details to transfer the money and once I have the confirmation from my bank, I can arrange delivery of the car to your address.

I'm sure I saw something on tv about a specialist task force you should contact? I would say have a look on direct.gov but that site seems deliberatly designed to make it impossible to know anything.

try Crime Stoppers if you can't find anything else, I imagine if you phone rather than use the net they'll kniw what to do.

You might just beat me at grass of the year...

I'd love to nail him If I could - hate thieves of any description.

Just got this from him in answer to my email spinning him along, I was thinking bank details would be quite traceable by the Police if I can get hold of them.

" Hi Rob

The total cost is £3,830, delivery costs included.

I will send my bank account details in the morning as I have to check them with by bank again.

Morning Mike

If you could send me your bank details, I’ll contact my bank and see if they can do the balance transfer.

What would the total cost be including delivery please ?

Thanks

Rob"

And when you have the bank details tell him you have decided not to buy his car because you are buying another car from a man who also works on an oil rig, has just been through a divorce and is having the car delivered to you.

Rang Crimestoppers, they put me on to Office of Fair Trading - they took a load of details and then asked me to ring Action Fraud ( 0300 1232040 ) They took even more detail and will pass it on to the Police for possible investigation.

I don't anticipate any really useful action - but even if I get his bank account frozen it's something - Every little helps

I'm still having a bit of fun with him via email
