Sat Navs

Hi,

I am looking to get a half decent sat nav without spending a fortune. Anyone got any recommendations?? I had assumed that TomTom was a safe bet but there seem to be loads around now.

All advice gratefully received!!

Cheers

Chris

Cant go wrong with a Garmin. Bought mine 2 years ago (Nuvi 310d). Im probably due to update my maps but I have regulalry used it abroad and it took me straight to my folks house in an obscure little spanish village.

Tom tom one if you want UK-only coverage with full postcode (I got Mrs MB one for under a ton from Morgan Computers - worth way more in brownie points!) or agreed on the Nuvi for lo-cost european cover.

Navigo from ebuyer with TomTom Navigator installed.

Has taken me to places I've never heard of while on business in Germany and all around the UK.

Cheers guys!

So in summary it looks like if I go with Tom Tom or Garmin (whichever has the best deal at the time) then I cant go far wrong.

Also is there some sort of prize for starting the 100,000th thread?!?!?

TT One V3 is £10 OFF at ebuyer at the mo.

TomTom One at Ebuyer

Note that this is no frills - it has no card slot for additional maps or bluetooth. It can download (some) updates via usb.

Oops - sorry (see below) - I blame it on the hassle of posting it from work. Sorry about that - a good price though, and I have the EU version of that TT and it's fine.

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

You got me all excited then! To save anyone else from the disappointment I have suffered it's currently £10 off, making the price £89.99.

I tend to look at attractive women, but like road signs they can be few and far between, and my view is often blocked by other traffic

Me too Chris

This one bugged me though.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Garmin for me too.

Friend had TT but kept breaking so he spent 50 quid on an unheard of thing that worked quite well by all accounts (but since sold).
