Sierra brake back plates

Looking for a pair of brake back plates to suit 8" drums from a 1.6 / 1.3 Sierra. Anybody got anything suitable, doesn't matter how rusty / manky / old ?

Cheers,

Rob

Have you thought about fitting disc conversion plates?

Much nicer than drums.

However, be careful you dont make the back of the car over braked.
I did this and had to fit the larger front discs to keep the ballance right.

Just a thought.

Also put your rough location in your profile, then people can see if you are near them.
Just a thought..

Depends on how you define 'nicer' ;0)

Benefits of rear discs
1) Availability
2) Won't jam on after heavy/track use.
3) Shiney!

Benefits of drums
1) Lighter than discs.
2) Offer balanced braking with std front discs.
3) Handbrake is straightforward.
4) Cheaper than dics.

For the time being I'm going to go with drums (already got the drums and a selection of innards, just the back plate I need to source) but if I draw a blank it will be discs.

Cheers,

Rob
