no 240 will be going into the main block connector in the boiler then to the stat then to the gas valve the stat and gas valve might be 24v cant remember 100% a while since i done a bbu there the only three things that it could be ps doubt you will be able to check them though without removing the fire

The timer is only a switch, so just check if you've got 240v going into timer & does it come out?

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

If the gas valve has a black resin base under the grey cover on the power connector its 240v. If its a blue base its 24v. Normaly these are a grey push button honeywell gas valve and are readily available from a boiler spares supplier but you will need to stripdown the gas train to replace it and they dont come pre set for the correct burner pressure! So probably best to get a Corgi man to fit it and test it for you.
