Loom For Mid Mounted - Buy Or Make?
Is it easier (cheaper) to make or buy a loom for a mid mounted kit car?
If buy, from whom?

i decided to make mine, because i can't think of any other car with a similar layout to mine. also that way there was going to minimal wires in
there that i didn't need etc.
got my cable from www.kojaycat.com, because his cable is about 22p a metre, and he lives about 10minutes from me, so no postage charges. really
helpful guy too. doesn't have a huge range of connectors and stuff, but there's ebay for the ones he doesn't have.

Easier to buy - somewhere like Premier Wiring http://www.premierwiring.co.uk They do rear-engine and custom looms.
Cheaper to make your own and it isn't hard if you're methodical - but there isn't too much in it cost wise if you include a decent
ratchet crimping tool in the cost.
Don't try and make your own with a poundland crimp tool it will always be somewhat unreliable.

Not got that far yet, but I'm 90% sure I'll be making my own using one of the following suppliers:

But then again I've got a enough experience of electronics not to be too worried about it - and it looks like I'm about to get a chunk of

I bought 7 core trailer cable at Newark, cheap at half the price. Built the loom from scratch yo will need to gett hold of healight connectore an
engine specific. Dont drop the clanger of putting both headlights through one fuse thou, lose one lose em all not good in the dark.You could always
buy a Vicki Green loom (i think) and extend or reduce the lengths accordingly

mini engine, so was looking at either building, buying a specific loom or chopping up a mini loom to fit.

Can't go wrong with Premier Loom if you ask me.
If you know what you're doing then it looks as if you can DIY cheaper, personally I thought it was worth the investment.

I would buy from Premier. Just a question of valuing your time against the possible savings. Sometimes it's better to pay a bit extra and move a
considerable distance forward and get on with the work that you can't buy in
