OK so who brought their Kit to work today
Basically as above.
I did  Had a great drive except the speedo stopped working  so had to gauge speed by that of other cars and the vibrating of aeroscreen thing

Hmmm.. Who doesnt have a Commuting restriction on their Insurance?
I would have done, but to drive uninsured and then have an accident, even if not your fault would be a real problem.
Dont get caught out. Check your insurance before driving to and from work (ie Commuting) to see that your are covered.
Most Kit and classic cars specifically exclude Commuting as a use.
Spoil-sports 
1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

I cant as I work in one of Leicesters deprived and vile estates.
You cant see the car park from the office and our CCTV doesnt cover it.

I choose not to...
45 miles each way on the A12 in heavy traffic ain't fun in a little open car... 
Also, I have "don't take it to work" clause in bold letters on my insurance policy (see Geoff's post above).

Same here. 47 miles each way, 42 of which are motorway including the M6 over Thelwall. I also have the commuting to and from my permanent place of
work exclusion. As I get my fuel paid for I suppose I could bring it on the trailer then just take it out at lunchtime?

really? I always make it a condition that its for going to work in, never noticed any increase in the premiums for that. Only thing usually left
out is motorsport.

I brought mine to work yesterday, great drive especially homeward bound, A Porshe tried to keep up on the overtaking but he didnt stand a chance.

played witht he idea, but nearly all my drive is on the M23 and really isnt fun. I also predicted the drive home to me a nightmare with sunny weather
and saturday looming (POETS day and all) - Piss Off Early Tomorrows Saturday
Will be picking up my GF from the station in it, going to the gym in it and probably waxing it tomorrow

45 miles including A46 M1 M69 and M6. Didnt care, wasn't overly happy looking at the HGV wheels but ive only been on the road 2 weeks so its
still fun.
Re insurance I made sure I had commuting on it as I knew Id want to bring it to work occasionally

I didnt but wish i had. Iv got to go and pick some wheels up in a min from norwich and wish i could fit 5 aloys in it so i could take it instead of
my tin top. 1 good thing i have climate control.

Surely thats the point.. you don't often commute in it!
For the high days and holidays that you do ever go in it why should you pay extra all the time.

I was VISITING friends at the office today in mine.
David J I'm disappointed I did 50 miles each way on the A12.. Ipswich to Brentwood.
serious fun and i couldnt wait to finish for the day and drive to 50 miles home, i was in nivana still hyped.

I might have if the car wasn't in bits and I currently had a job
On the other hand, the weather is glorious and I got one of the rear wings repainted today - only the other one to do, some tidying in the boot area
and a job to get so I can insure, MOT and tax it!

Paid for the Commuting cover - glad I did as its a cracking little country run to work the back way.
Scared a colleague on a roundabout - she didn't know cars could corner like that...

It's very specific! The wording is:
"Limitations as to use
Use only for social, domestic and pleasure purposes excluding use by any person for travelling to and from his/her place of work/business or
study..."
However, next renewal I plan to get it modified so that I can use it to work occasionally. I would never use it regularly, because of the A12.
Or I'll go to a different insurance agent...
