transporting a car from scotland
I have a dilema, I have seen a project car in Scotland that is slighly newer and in better nick body wise than my project.
Its really cheap too, listed as a non runner but sounds a simple fix. It has a the better engine than mine and has had a new set of nitrons, bodwork
looks really tidy.
I could sell mine and buy this one probably without loosing any money (or get mine MOT'd) and make a few quid.
Only problem is its 400 miles away.
I don't have access to a trailer anymore.
I would happilly pay a few hundred quid but think it would cost a lot more to get it transported down.
Anythoughts or should I leave it!

I notice you are in Northants and the car is in Scotland so have you seen the car or just seen it advertsied?
Seeing a photo is not the same as seeing it in person so do not assume it is in better nick.
You can get companies to transport a car - ebay, about £ 1 per mile. I would imagine you are looking at £ 600 for round trip? - which may or may not
make sense since I have no idea what the cars are worth.
Even if you had a trailer - these can be hired I believe - then how much would that cost and the fuel? You need to factor that in.

I've had quotes as low as £105 to transport my Vortx from Birmingham to Edinburgh.
The car transport association website sent my details out and I got several quotes back.
Andy Duane Car Transport were the cheapest.

Define 'non-runner'.
My mate has bought a few cars where he has got th train across country, bought car, pushed it onto main road and rung the AA to recover him
'home'. Not that I condone this sort of thing, but if the car could be made to look like its just broken down then thats one option

I believe this sort of thing is now prevented in the AA & RAC rules and conditions
Fame is when your old car is plastered all over the internet

How would they know? If you are clever in your deception then its possible.

yep, I know all the pitfalls.
Non runner, ran before being laid up for xmas, MOT ran out, now wont start, fuel problem.
Documented rebuild etc.
Can't face the drive myself with a trailer.
£1 per mile makes it too expensive.
I'll try a couple of the links suggested.

I guess it's the blue/green S 1.5 you're looking at (S1 wind-up windows rather than S2 electric).
The fuel problem is likely to be either fuel relay, fuel pump or blocked fuel filter/pipe. Basically, once fixed, it's a quick MOT and then you
could drive it home?
Your's look in good condition, so the only real benefit is the later engine and fuel injection/ECU.
