ZETEC Crank Sensor + megajolt
i have just got my megajolt "complete zetec fitting kit "in the post today. i have had a quick look at the instuctions to find loads of
referance to a trigger wheel needing fitting to the engine (are they talking about a zetec engine or talking about engines in general?) . i have a
1993 1.8 zetec. Do i need to fit a new trigger wheel or do i just use to zetec crank senor?

No you all ready have one or should have on the zetec.
It sticks through the block and points at the back of the flywheel and sits under the exhaust side.

As above - the holes in the back of the Zetec flywheel are used so dont need a trigger wheel and seperate sensor like the Pinto etc. You will find the
VR sensor just above the starter motor on a Zetec

Just use the VR already in the block looking at the flywheel, just make sure you use the standard shielded loom to as close as possible to the ECU (or
EDIS).
Reference to trigger wheel will just be fro engines not equipped with a crank sensor, ie: pinto, crossflow etc.

The Megajolt instalation likes a twin core cable from the sensor to the Megajolt ECU that has an earth shield around it, pretty standard sheilded
cable which you can buy from Trigger wheels .com
You Megajolt loom should be well built and sheilded and earthed as per the instructions.
Do it right, do it once...... or you will chase problems (as i have done) for a long time.

Shielded cable - you can get some from Maplins etc. Basically a metal braid surrounding the signal wires stops electrical interference from affecting
the signal from the VR sensor to the ECU.

Think I remember too that you only ground one end of the shielded wire on the shielded cable too. Maybe worth looking into that just in case I dreamt
it
