At Cadwell I'd forgotten my licence. They phoned DVLA to check and I made a donation to the air ambulance for the inconvenience.

BAT on the other hand, have never asked me for it (I've got the old "proper" one) even though I've always had it with me.

After Cadwell, I think many now believe I never passed a test!

I did Abingdon recently and they insisted on seeing both parts of the licence, however, I have never been asked for my licence before.

I lost my card a few years back, called up and told them,

They said "if you have lost one part, then you need a new licence sir". I said "cant you reprint the old one?"

"No sir, if you lost both parts of the licence we can reprint the old one for £17 (or something similar) otherwise its £30 odd quid and you need to get a new photo and your photo signed"... etc. etc.

"Oh, I seem to have miss-placed the other half of my licence...how odd - looks like I need a full one." I replied.

"Sir, you will have to phone back if you want to try that, I know you lying."

Click...brrrrrrrrr......

"Sir?"

I had to show both parts at Goodwood last week.

The marshall almost stopped me driving due to an discrepancy on the licence.......it had no points on it!

All I've done is remove the bonnet and have a look. There's loads of cracks all over it plus the couple of pretty bad bits that we could see at Cadwell. Only other damage appears to be a bent bonnet hinge.
Not sure if the bonnet can be salvaged. Might be just a patch up for summer (?) and then a proper repair/mod this winter.
