Free Lap Timer for your phone

We all like free stuff and this seems pretty cool.

I've just got a new phone - Nokia 5800 and it runs on the Symbian OS for which you can download free apps.

One of the free ones is Race Chrono

It works via GPS and if your local track isn't already in it, you can drive the track and input it as a new one. As well as timing it also traces your lines as well.

Just worth mentioning I thought.

Does that mean you could record your favourite bit of quiet twisty road as a track too?

Yep.

A hillclimb track is no more than a bit of quiet twisty road - Harewood is already on there as a track.
