Disposing of Mineral oil ??

At work, we use a mineral oil and we have about 125 litres to dispose of, any ideas on where and how much this will cost to get rid of ?? I think its basically like chip fat!
It could probably be used by someone in a diesel car but i know nothing about this at all ?

Regards Andy

Free at a fly-tip?
Only joking, I have no idea, but it will probably cost a lot to get rid of it, the tips like to charge companies for waste management

Hi Andy,

I run my Landcruiser on veg oil, and am looking into using mineral oil as well. I've almost finished building a centrifuge to clean the oil with, but there are issues with using both oils, as veg oil and mineral oil gell when mixed. I'd be interested in your oil. Where are you in Herts?

Regards,

Ian.

Bear in mind thet it's controlled waste. If its something you produce as part of what you do and the Enviroment Agency call, they'll want to know where it's gone. If you've no record (waste carriers note)they'll assume you dumped it.

I don't know if it's still the case but the Ffestiniog Railway in Wales ran all of their steam engines on waste oil. There used to be a guy at work who collected it from all of the DIYers and took it over when he was on a a volunteering weekend.
Aways seemed like a good home for old oil to me

Hi

Most of the local council tips have waste oil recycling facilities. Failing that Is there any local garages that still use a waste oil heater.

Cheers Matt

Ian is going to take it for his landcruiser

The local tip will only take small amounts at a time and cost of disposal was a tad on the silly side.
