Vulcan

Was the Vulcan flying on Sunday? I thought I saw it in the afternoon, Bedfordshire possibly from Duxford but it? was low and I could only see a side view. Very noisy and looked as though the choke was still on

Yes, I also saw it Sunday at the Sanicole airshow in Belgium. Impressive piece of aircraft if you keep in mind it was built around 1950 ! At the airshow it was flying together with some F-16's which looked very small compared to the Vulcan. This one is the only flying Vulcan in the world. It took 10 million € to restore is and the annual running cost is 2 million €.

It did a 5 minute or so demonstration over our house a few weeks back, was quite a spectacle!

Even more impressive when you realise that the previous aircraft made on the same production line was the Lancaster!

They stopped producing the Lanc, then started with the Vulcan!
