possible donor

How about this for an engine and transmission donor? I'm not sure how you would integrate the IRS, but the engine and tranny look promising.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Thats what I have going into my car, with dry sump. Great engine, pretty tall thou, and gearbox is wide through the bellhousing area.

Check out my build for pictures and ideas, and send me a message if you have any questions..

Boy! that does look ling a lot of engine stuffed in there. Seems quite a bit taller than the 4AGE. Your install looks very nice though. I'll check out your links.

Sorry about the link -- sometimes they paste funny, and you use the crappy tiny URLs they often times go to crap, or so it seems. I wonder a little about getting it through any emissions though, since it wasn't originally imported into the States.

IRS is just a standard sierra set up, with double wishbones. Yeah the engine is tall (mainly in the head area and intake plenum), not sure of the exact weight, but its about the same (if not lighter) as a Nissan SR20 (which is an alloy block) and shouldn't be too much more than a 1.8 Mx5 and 6speed set up.. (same gearbox with different housings)

Total car weight will be around 600kg mark

Not sure about emissions in the US (there is not any specific rules here in NZ for custom built cars yet)

Finding wiring diagrams proved a problem to start with, but have tracked down enough info to piece it all together, so can provide that sort of info when and if you need it.

Dry sump was put on as the alloy section of sump around the bottom was very wide and also pretty deep, so the new sump means I can fit the whole lot under the bonnet without any scoops/bulges, also gives good grand clearance.
