If you log into the forum...
and you have a u2u....
it will tell you on the front page...
right in the middle.......
No different from reading/checking emails really.........
Oh and you can subscribe to as many threads as you want to follow.......
and
you get an email ..... telling you when people have replied to it....
even if you haven't replied on the thread
you just click on 'subscribe' at top left of the thread...........
It has always been there...
I belong to many forums...and none give you the amount of space to have your own picture archive......
and this one is far more stable than many others.....

And if you dont log into the forum for a day or so, the message sits there unread. A simple mail prompt wouldn't hurt.

Yep by going through each thread and clicking subscribe. A pain in the ass if you happen to miss one, then spend 1/2 an hour searching... but lets not

But that's not really a massive selling point, with the likes of photobucket and other free photo storage sites available.
The storage issue is easily addressed with the hosting company for a small cost.

Again, more often than not down to the hosting company. Get a decent host, get decent reliabilty.
Dont think I'm having a go here, it's more construtive critism. Just out of all the forums I use, this has to be the most clunky of them.

I moderate and help run another car related forum and have done for about 10 years and we welcome suggestions on how to make the forum better and run
slicker.
We're currently in the process of upgrading to PHPBB3 (I believe) due to the extra features it has both for the end user and the backroom staff.
Just because it works, doesn't mean it cant work better

The forum owner has been working on a new one for quite a while now.
When will it go live? I do not know, he has his own business, and in this current climate, that must come first.
I 'admin' this in my spare time, also running a business or two.....but then I do not design websites.....so what I do, or, don't is
irrelevant.
However, until then, as long as we can please some of the good folk on here, some, or, most of the time, that is fine by me.

Perhaps I'm not looking very well but it also would be nice to browse trough the user's photo archive. Now you click on a description and
then the picture opens. If you want to see the next picture you have to click back and click another description. It would be nice if there was a
"NEXT" button so you can quickly look at the following pictures in the archive.
