http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p3236/FORMULA-MIRROR-CARBON-FIBRE-LEFT-HAND/product_info.html

i've checked all through the IVA manual, and can't find anything wrong with them. i'm even getting some myself (though not carbon fibre)

try these. linky
they weigh nothing.
only problem with small mirrors is that you can see sh1t out of them.........................not that you will be looking behind much

I'm sure that SPA mirror won't pass IVA due to the glass height - defo looks less than 70mm which IIRC is required.

I would also take issue with the weight saving to be made here I sell carbon LOOK mirrors at £19.95 a PAIR for the F1 style & even less in teardrop shape - they weigh just over & just under 140g each respectively, so why not use the £170 you could save by not buying the stupidly expensive carbon parts & use it to buy something which actually makes a significant weight saving of Kg not grammes?????

A lightweight battery perhaps or a smaller fuel tank?

All IMHO of course!!!

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

10.
An exterior mirror must be a minimum of 40mm high and 70mm long, and be able to incorporate a measurement parallel to the height of the rectangle at least 70mm in length within the lens. (see note 2 & figure 1)

- Note 2: These dimensions are the minimum requirements of the reflective surface and not the overall size of the mirror assembly.

SPA Single seater (Formula) light weight mirror with a lockable swivel mounting. Left hand side. Lens measures 52mm high by 113mm wide.

seems alright to me. what am i missing?

russ - I was thinking the same. The amount of material is so small, the weight saving would be smaller than if you took a pee before heading out in the car! If it is all about blingin up the car, then use the lookalike stuff!

Save your cash for something worthwhile!

I haven't got the manual in front of me, but I'm sure from past examination that the SVA (& I assume therefore the IVA) requires a vertical measurement of 70mm somewhere along a horizontal line & perpendicular to it ie vertical?????
Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'd love to find out my mirrors are IVA ok!!!

Not to throw water on an obsession that we all understand, but at a very few foot distance, you could simply not see the cf weave in a friend's car. This disappointment saved me many pounds, as the Robin Hood 15 pound/pair variety I ended up with, weigh next to nothing. You still can't see poo out of them, but that's for another argument!

Why get arsey about it?

Google is your friend, do a bit of research yourself rather than trying to get everyone else do it for you.

If you're that bothered, take em off, or go on a diet or something, will save a lot more weight that way

I'm not about to get drawn into some tit for tat little exchange, but I will explain my comment

You asked a question, people gave you answers. Because the answers got a little off track you got the hump, as indicated by your little angry face.

I'm sure there are better ways of putting over the point, than having to resort to using no less than 7 exclamation marks and a silly little angry face.

If you were not happy with the answers then politely put people on track, not stamp your feet having a huff.

And if my avatar is meant to actually indicate something about me, you are correct. Some of the questions I ask are stupid, but that is because I am new to building cars from scratch.

A lot of the blokes have avatars of vary scantily clad women; this doesn't mean they like to cross dress (although they might)

You don't have an avatar, what can we read into this?

Sean
