Isn't that Neil Corner at the Goodwood Revival a couple of years ago?

That is Goodwood and looking at the helmets it is pretty recent so must be the Revival meeting in 2008.

It was 2007 as we now have the goodwood contracts.

IMO its a load of cra@p blaming a tiny camera, I've been told its physically impossible.

Goodwood is a proper old boys club, they'd never own up to anything that was their fault either and never want to pay for anything.

It was 2005 and we remember it well........

It happened more or less in front of us, and although not privvy to all the behind scene (cameras) paraphinalia, it looked, to us lot, (me and 4 guys, 2 of us whom race, and know Goodwood track), that it was a race incident....in fact, we all said, he 'overcooked' it.
If you get Woodcote wrong.......it will bite you on the bum......

I hope he has now recovered.....

Not nice, but TBH he was probably better off out of the car at that stage anyway.

Just checked the outcome of this story, looks like the judge decided it was a racing accident of his own doing and the camera had nothing to do with it. Seemingly he is back driving again.

Looking at that picture and then reading what injuries he had, it seems he got off very likely IMHO.

i bet his white overalls were not that white when he took them off.....

had a similar experience when i hit a stationary go kart at 60mph...come out the kart as it forward flipped, i bent the steering wheel and broke two ribs and landed 12ft away on the grass.....5 days later, kart was rebuilt and i was back out 3 weeks after that...

Everyone signs a disclaimer....

Seems more to me that someone who can afford to own and compete in a race a car like that can also afford expensive barristers so is trying it on.

Not good to crash, but if you are not prepared to accept the consequences then do not get in the car.

If he had won the case we all would have suffered as people seeking compensation would drive the costs of all motor sport up, screwing up track days and the like up for the rest of us.

Should have just counted himself lucky to still be alive, from the news report he can still walk “He spent three weeks in hospital and it was three months before he could walk without crutches. Although Mr Ticciati described his recovery from his injuries as 'extraordinary', he said it was 'by no means complete'.” So can still drive, just had to spend £100k putting his car back together.

BTW Wonder if these peeps are related, Barrister Oliver Ticciati, a specialist in insurance fraud and personal injury? hmmmm

Although I understand what you are saying Mark.....it is worth pointing out that not all the drivers (Goodwood Revival) own the cars......very few in fact....

So if he didn't own the car he was driving.......
he may have been on a 'you bend it, you mend it' clause

He did actually spend a couple of days or so in Intensive Care ........IIRC

However, as I said before, it looked like 'driver error' at the time......and not the fault of anyone else........

As pheonix70 has said, the judge came to the same conclusion.........

Ooooo same name eh? ..... coincidence surely?!?
