You wont find anything decent on ebay very often.

You'll also want to hear it running as they are prone to big ends going and eating butterflies out of the inlet manifold.

Have a word around the breakers. I was quoted between £200 and £750 from the local ones.

Focus ST2 is just a Volvo engine. it's not a ford duratec.

You would nead an M90 box to match it and hens teeth come up on ebay more often.

Can I ask as a new convert to CEC's..... how come the duratec's are becoming so popular? Can you not get more standard power with RWD with a SR20DET etc?

SR20DET and other Turbo'd applications are for people who want to kill themselves!

The duratec is all alloy, so super lightweight.

An NA install can be done for around £1000.

Whats that out of then? presumably nissan...

We went duratec simply because me and my dad are ford fans, it comes with good power right away and is nice and light. We also got the 2.3 lump at a good price - that added capacity also makes ours a little more unique too. 161bhp as standard, so should easily do over 170 with just carbs and exhaust.

Usual story, go jap, get more power etc. Gotta say the duratec probably isn't best bang for buck.

sr20de is the none turbo version of the above, 150ish bhp, alloy engine and bomb proof(use to have a nissan almera gti with one). Easy to convert to RWD with a 200sx box etc.
