Redneck power tool

I know all power tools have the potential to give you a nasty one, but this one takes it a bit too far.

Do all log-splitters look unbelievably dangerous ?

I'm amazed at how inefficient and SLOW those log splitters are!

Even one of these things could do the job much quicker (and I've also seen bigger, petrol-driven versions). A lot safer, too.

Really? watch the OPs clip and tell me a hydrolic splinter comes anywhere near as close. Ive spent hours running a hydrolic splitter and actually they are mind numbingly slow!

How about this then?

The hydraulic splitter I have here is not too slow, loads of the home built ones use way too big a ram. It gives them loads of power but makes them very slow.
I've a 3 phase hydraulic power pack to run it that puts out 2000ish psi & now & then it struggles but it's fast, if we power it direct from a tractor it's a bits slower unless we use a fair few revs but we get 2600+psi & nothing really bothers it.
