BEC chain driven transfer / diff / reverse

has anyone fitted or has experience of one of these in a BEC

shown here on a hayabusa trike the diff / transfer box is chain driven with a 1/1 ratio i believe the final drive ratio is built into this unit as a reverse gear

seems it might solve a lot of the issues with chain drive

Look to me like the rear of a Quaife / Poweretec box from the Radicals.

If so, then it is great... if you have three and a half grand going spare

back to a modified sierra lsd and startor motor reverse

of course this has the advantahe of easily being able to change sprockets and therefore final drive ratios

IIRC some people have used a starter chain and sprocket on one side of the diff and a starter motor/sprocket on the other side for reverse. Might make life a little tricky if planning inboard brakes but apart from that should work.

I know someone on here has done it, just can't think who...

Just out of interest, do trikes need IVA?

They go through Motorcycle SVA, which is a lot easier than IVA.
