A local vehicle paints place will be able to make up cans in whatever colour you like.
You'll also get decent nozzles on them and more paint content.
If desperate, I have found Halfords paints to actually be quite good.

I've used halfords mixed to colour aerosols and found them to be great. The colour match was excelent both times and the made to order cans
have fan nozzles. They don't make excessive orange peel (unlike the cans from Jawel) and the finish is really glossy. £12.50 each isn't
cheap though. Their off the shelf colours are half the price bot have round nozzles which makes it harder to get an even coverage on a large area.

would I be right in thinking that white is one of the easier colours to get looking ok?
Not much logic to my thinking, other than its the opposite of black, which is notoriously difficult..

I've used Halford's Acid#8 for etch priming bits of metalwork. It's really good stuff but really lethal to breathe in. If your doing
any big panels with it get yourself a bl**dy good mask & lots of ventilation.

I would seriuously attempt to borrow a compressor and gun, or even buy an apollo HVLP. At the aerosol prices you can spent a small, if not large
fortune. Buy litre tins etc (i get mine from jawel, some std colors are dirt cheap) plus a litre of etch, primer etc and you can get plenty of paint
on in no time. And a better finish....
Borrowing kit is the best idea though, especially if it comes with an instructor/operative

Can vouch Acid #8 is good stuff (get the correct mask)!
You might find this link one possibility:

But you will need patience and a clean dust free area.
Cheers
