Hard to start carb bike after being left standing
I have a scooter (125cc4 stroke) that is hard to start when it is left to stand for a few days. It does fire up eventually. In normal circumstances,
it starts at the press of the button. What might be causing this and how can I investigate this further from here?
Thanks

It's his engine and it won't start ?
Take it off the stand and shake it from side to side as you press the starter. The float bowl dries up so it has to fill before you get any through.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

have to agree with peteff. my mates cr125 used to do the same thing. float used to get stuck at the bottom of the bowl. one of us tapping it while
the other kicked it over usually worked.
welcome to the forum btw.
as for the comment about the post there are so many people using bike engines/carbs why wouldn't you ask on here. he probably searched on
google for bike carb problems and found us.

Though to be a total pedant it should possibly be under "Car chat- other" or "non-car chat" rather than engine &
transmission. A scooter engine wouldn't be the kind of BEC I'd want to drive

Ah, but it wouldn't be a BEC, it would be a SEC!
So we now have,
CEC - Car engined Car
BEC - Bike engined Car
BEC2 - Boat engined Car
SEC - Scooter engined Car
SEC2 - Snowmobiled engined car
SEC3 - steam engined car
EEC - electric engined car
fec - feet engined car
DEC - diesel engined car
Now is a rocket engined car classed as rocket or chemical?

I can think of two more:
JEC - Jag engined car
VEC - Viper engined car
I think both the above deserve their own catagory
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?
