Which scanner for this connection?

Hi
Which scanner for codes etc can be connected to the following socket? Can someone recommend the correct cable with software that can be used from my Laptop? Rescued attachment Diagnostic plug 2.jpg

cant really tell from the picture quality is really poor what car is it in, may help more than a photo

I hope this photo is better. These photo's are better when they are minimised. It is a Toyota Carina e 2.0; I am trying to work out what plug this vehicle has.

Can't see the lettering but if it's like most Toyota's of that period just put a wire between E1 and T1, turn the ignition to on and any faults codes will be flashed in sequence on the engine fault light.
