IVA Pass

A big thank you to every one on this forum.
All the answers to my problems over the past 20 months have been sorted by just looking on this site. Had my first IVA on the 16/06/10 but failed on some easy fix items. 2nd test on Weds 30/06/10 PASSED. So thanks everyone.
Forgot to mention, built an MK INDY with a 20ltr zetec. Rescued attachment Image0041.JPG

Nice,, just a question, how did the seats vs belt anchorage get through? Were the seats classed as sufficiently strong to be load points?

My friends IVA passed car had similar routing to this, as long as the upper anchorage effective position was correct - measured from the seat base distance block, and the belts went up to your shoulders, thereby not acting on the seat, your fine.

From a safety point of view though I guess the VIA thing isn't the best. I would have thought it would be better to use spacers under the upper mounts to get it through the test, then bin them straight after, as harnesses are meant to go down toward the rear (correct angles are given in the bumph that comes with them) to stop you from going up in the seat if you roll over.

Thanks,
When I sit in mine (similar seats) the headrest acts as a sort of nape of neck rest at best.

I'm getting a set of GRP seats though as I don't like the top of the roll bar acting as my head rest.
