Starter Motor

Long saga with a "please help" request at the end.

I lost my Silvertop Zetec in April (oil filter failure) and since then the car has been with a company while they replace the Silvertop with a new Blacktop. This has a"CNC Heads" Head and Cams.

I'm waiting to get the car back but the company doing the work has hit a problem. The Silvertop was running a lightened flywheel with a standard clutch and a CVH starter with the standard bellhousing. The blacktop is running a 81/2" Burton steel flywheel, AP clutch and a Raceline alloy bellhousing.....

So the desperate cry for help is...What starter motor will fit ? The CVH doesn't engage. a Pinto one the company had kicking about will start the car but can only be done up on 2 of the 3 bolts as it is too large (in diameter). They have got a smaller Pinto one but that doesn't appear to work either.

I presume this has been done before so there must be a starter out there that will work.

Thanks....

Having the same problem with my CVH starter not engaging (not enough throw) A bit of research has thrown up the Lucas LRS543 or equivalent as an alternative.

Hope that's of some use!

Cheers

Adrian
