Anyone done locost nickel plating

I'm looking to nickel plate a few linkages and brackets, and looking at these home kits they seem to be between £100 - 150.

I have plenty of containers, a devent 12v power supply, VR, volt amp meters galore, and was thinking I cant be far off having all I need apart from salts and Nickel Anodes .

Has anyone bought the bits seperately and had any success? can point me at suppliers etc.....

Have started doing some DIY anodising with some pretty good results.

The next step was zinc plating, havent really read up on it much yet, not sure how easy all the chemicals are to come by. Let me know if you find somewhere to get the salts and anodes.

Will have a word with our chemical supplier at work, he managed to get me all the bits i needed for the anodising, but that was pretty standard stuff.

I had a look at doing this and Gateros plating seemed to be the best value for money if you want the whole kit, although they do sell the chemicals separately as well.
