Ford Sierra 3.14 differential for sale

Now I know this is a very rare 3.14 one, because today finally I deassembled it from the structure and take off the driveshafts.
And this is how I verified the ratio: I saw through the shafts holes that little stud in the interior of the diff, put it vertically and turned the flange (that I marked against the middle down of the diff case) and it took 3 turns plus about 1/8 turn to that stud complet a full turn.
So in decimal therms 3-1/8 turns is 3.125, but because that was not in rigour, is very near 3.14.

Now we can see the books don’t tell all the true about 3.14 differentials and I can say in rigour that al least some of 2.0L Sierras had those kind of diff and that car was not one came from modifications and other ‘inventions’.

Here is the short story of the car:
It was a single owner car since the very beginning. The man was a Portuguese worker in France in the 80’s when he bought the car in new condition. At that time he had about 50 years old and now in his seventies and the car with 20 something years he wanted to unregister it and sell it for dismantling.
Honestly I bought the car for the engine and gearbox, but now that I retired all the interesting stuff from the carcasse, I gave a look at the diff label and at first time I could not believe that car was equipped with a 3.14 differential.

Before I put the diff on sale on Ebay.co.uk, let me know if there’s someone here interested in it. I have to say that I could arrange transportation for UK for about 60GBP by the international courrier GLS.

cheers

FYI

3.14 diff is a misnomer.

They are actually 3.133. (47:15) I don't know why Ford rounded up to 3.14 rather than down to 3.13, maybe someone had a pi fetish.
