MT75 to Type9 Swap

Hi,

The MT75 i have looks like it might be leaking oil, so I'm thinking of swapping it for a Type9 with a BGH gear kit over the winter.

Is the Type9 a direct swap to replace a MT75, I'm mainly concerned about having to relocate the Engine Mounts, and would like to avoid that if possible. I'll probably be using the Burtons Ali Bell Housing.

I'm trying to get an idea of the knock-on effects would be of the swap, to gauge if its worth doing or not.

Cheers

Rally Design for the ally bellhousing, half the price, you may also need an RS2000 release arm and a cct113 release bearing.
Gearbox mount will be in a different position
Prop shaft may need to bo shorter with a different fitting arrangement.
If you use an RS2000 bellhousing you either need an RS2000 ally sump or make up a steel plate to cover the unused starter motor hole which also mounts the clutch cable

Its a lot of work and money when another mt75 is so cheap.

I think the car would benefit from a close ratio box, and if i get a secondhand MT75 there is no guarantee it will be in any better condition than the one I have. So my thinking was if i am going to have to buy a Recon an MT75 I might as well pay the bit extra for a Type9 and the advantages it brings.
