Screen fitted - thanks to Macspeedy

Just finished fitting the screen and wipers, just in time for the car to be collected tomorrow!

Screen arrived this afternoon. Many thanks have to go to Graham (macspeedy) for his effort in getting the screen together in time as there had been a few delay out of his control.

Quality is top notch and I would recommend his screens to anyone - Pat (mango) was originally supplying them.

Anyway, here's some pics

Pretty pleased with the result, changes the whole look of the car...

Looks fantastic mate. Bought that screen surround myself about 3 years ago and have never fitted it!

Not go any more pics showing the fitting of the wiper system etc. have you? I've got a Mini setup but no bloody idea how to mount it at all!

I'll be sad to see the car go. Particularly as I've never seen it in the flesh- thought it had already been sold!
Actually, I was there at GTS when you picked it up so maybe I have seen it!

I drove past Kings Lynn twice this week- I'd have dropped by to see the car if I'd known it was still there!

Cheers,
James

Thanks

I have a pic of the wiper motor mount, its all mini based stuff - the kit from CBS!

Wiper motor
Wiper motor

Motor is mounted on a piece of 3mm steel plate bolted to the top chassis rail with a couple of rivnuts.

The rest of the system is pretty simple to work out, just cut and bend the tubes to suit your wheel box positions with the cable running along the front side of the scuttle for left park. Wiring is dead simple too if you buy the right switch, just needs a switched live and earth, the rest of the wires just go between the switch and motor, no relays to worry about

Is it just the picture or is that a huge screen?

Looks miles taller than my Caterham one, and probably better for it.

Its quite tall yep, certainly seems taller than a Caterham one.

That said, it sits about the same height as the roll hoop, so would make fitting a roof easy

The sizing was scaled up as the whole car is bigger than a cat. I took this screen template off CALVINIX`s car originally.

Ps Did you like my crate

Tell the new owner that I have new design wind defectors that really work. They eliminate the side buffeting that dogs the longer chassis design. I will crank some out when we get some down time.
Just very tied up with a work project that is taking all the time and energy at the moment..

We have some mk screens sitting to be made up.
So if anyone needs a mk frame drop us a line.

These may be the last for some time as the costs and supplier problems are a huge factor in the manufacturing process.
