Converting Escort MkII stalks to use relays

Hi All,

I'm considering converting my old mk2 escort stalks to use relays instead of switching the full headlamp current at the switch.

Anyone done this before?
Any pitfalls to look out for?

Is this a good idea or am I better off replacing them with dash mounted switches where possible.
