Same here invisible smoke from cooking in the kitchen when to door gets opens set them off

I set mine/ours off with a non-cat car in the drive if I leave the front door open.
Oh it seems to help that it runs leaded fuel also.

Probably been said before but you can get them for free (and even fitted!) from your local fire service.

Instead of one Fireman, we even got the entire watch coming down in their fire applicance which kept the Missus happy for awhile!

You can get a "Cooking Safe" or "toast safe" one nowadays

also - no excuse to rip the battery out got to B&Q buy a another one for £5 and screw it up outside the Bedroom, (miles from the kitchen). The if the kitchen one goes of or you rip the battery out at least the other one will wake you!.
