Friday is good as its quieter that the other days. If you're sharp you may get some free tickets from the Sunday Times.

I went on the Friday last year and it was superb. You need two days to take it all in really though. I was also thinking about camping. Are the prices that bad then?

Sunday is the best day to see the cars trying to get up the hill in a decent time. Justin law is always good value especially if he's in the le-mans Jaguar

Going myself on the Saturday and Sunday, found some accommodation 25mins away but a lot of places closer by were either booked up or wanted silly money.

I've used the above before for camping near goodwood, they have good facilities and catering as well.

Probably a 15/20 minute drive in the morning if you get up and out before 09.00.
